A Journey Into The Unknown: Telling it how it is – the story of Theofilos Poutakidis

Project Brief

From the Poutakidis siblings/sons:

“There were a few motivations we had in commissioning this book about our Dad. We wanted to mark his 70th birthday with a different style of gift; something personal that would last beyond a fine whisky or wine. We wanted his and Mum’s story to be documented for our children and their children thereafter. Lives like these, filled with challenge, sacrifice, adventure and reward, must be celebrated and never forgotten. Finally, we wanted to convey our love, admiration and respect for him.

This book has been a discovery. We expected to learn things about Mum and Dad we didn’t know; but just how much we learnt surprised us. We looked forward to understanding things that were previously unspoken. We hoped to get a better appreciation of our roots; to help us continue a legacy of which we are immensely proud and determined to continue.

We realised now that more than the words on these pages, it has been the process of Dad reflecting on the most worthy of lives that has been the real gift.”

From the Client

Lucky (Theofilos) and Voula are happy to have it known how:

“This book with its stories is something that will stay with my kids and our grandchildren for life. There are a few lessons for them to learn. It’s nice that people you have known all your life want a copy.

I take my hat off to my boys. This is the best birthday present I have ever received. Makes me proud that they are interested and love and respect us so much.”
