Flinders Rose: Connie Dimattina – A Memoir

Project Brief

Adrian Di Mattina (one of Connie’s son’s) pricked up his ears when a friend of his spoke about how he had decided to have his father’s story documented and narrated, via interviews. This would include the rich history of the family migrating from Europe to Australia, how they felt and fared – and just how momentous that decision was for those first risk takers and the following generations. The family knew the Dimattina and Natoli stories were remarkable, and it was time for them to be told and documented. The family traditions, including on-going legacies, would be produced into a memoir. The family knew Connie, mother and matriarch, would enjoy telling her story…

From the Client

Connie – about her book:

“The family are thrilled. The grandchildren are asking questions and I enjoy answering them because I have tried to live by example. Looking back at the difficult parts of my life – it is a blessing to have come through.

Simon has done an amazing job putting in the stories about me and my thoughts but also his interpretation (narration) to bring it all together.”
